Blower door tests are done to measure the air tightness of a building and the way air filters out of a home. The testing equipment includes a fan, which pressurizes and depressurizes by producing different airflow into the building. This is a process that helps residential insulators ensure the home meets the appropriate building performance standards.

A blower door test will tell a contractor or a home owner where the problem areas are within their home and air leaks can be sealed. This will keep new residential properties efficient in heating and cooling and keep energy costs low.
