If it’s not BOAK, don’t fix it!

Four Questions to ask your Gutter Contractor before Installation from the Gutter Experts at Boak & Sons

Many homeowners are not experts in gutters, so it can be hard to understand what all goes into having new gutters installed. This also makes it harder to tell if you’re getting a good deal or if you’re getting scammed, which unfortunately happens more than it should. The gutter contractors at Boak & Sons know that installing new gutters can be a big project, and we want our customers to be prepared for it. That’s why we’re sharing four questions you should always ask your gutter contractor before you start your project!

  1. Do you require a down payment?

A gutter contractor should always compete the work before a single dime is paid by the customer. If the company requires a down payment before installation, it could be a red flag. At Boak & Sons, you don’t pay for anything until we finish the job to your satisfaction!

  1. Do you require a signed contract?

This is another telling sign of a scam vs. a legit gutter contractor. If they don’t ask you for a signed contract before they install your gutters, you could be at risk down the road if they ask you to pay more for the work than you initially agreed on! Our gutter contractors won’t even start your project until a contract is signed. Make sure your gutter contractor has the same policy!

  1. How do you make sure the gutters will fit?

Measuring is an important step to consider in the gutter installation process! The home needs to be expertly measured to make sure the gutters will fit properly. If they don’t, they will likely not function properly either. The gutter contractors at Boak & Sons take custom measurements of your home, and even bring a gutter cutting machine right to the project location to ensure the best fit.

  1. What are seamless gutters?

You will hear our gutter contractors talk about seamless gutters a lot. This simply means that instead of putting multiple pieces of gutter across the side of your home, we measure and cut one long piece with no seams. Seams are where two pieces of gutters meet, and are often a more vulnerable location to leaks. With less seams, you have a lower chance of damaging leaks!

Getting new gutters doesn’t have to be a complicated process. These questions are just a few ways you can understand the process better.
