Youngstown, Ohio – May 1, 2019 – Boak & Sons has seen a decline in skilled trade workers due to a labor shortage in the United States. Skilled commercial and residential roofers, insulators, siders, and sheet metal workers are vital to business success. Sam Boak, president of Boak & Sons, often holds events and giveaways for the crews to show his appreciation for the work they do.
May 1st is National Skilled Trades Day and is a day for Boak & Sons to highlight the work that their employees do every day. “We should not just celebrate our skilled trade workers once a year but take the time to recognize the work that our skilled laborers do throughout the rest of the year as well,” says Chris White, vice president of operations at Boak & Sons. “It is not easy work. We are lucky to have such an awesome group of roofers, insulators and sheet metal workers representing the Boak & Sons name.”
According to the Associated General contractors of America, 73% of construction firms surveyed are having trouble finding hourly skilled trade workers in their field. A lack of skilled trade workers is a threat to the entire construction industry as businesses work to fill positions with qualified personnel.
“Our insulation department wrapped up a superb winter season, our residential siding and residential roofing departments are busy with the challenging spring weather conditions and our commercial roofing workers are just getting started and are looking forward to a great season,” Sam Boak says. “Our metal roofing contractors have been busy completing jobs with perfectly installed paneling and roofing systems.”
Boak & Sons is always on the lookout for talented and motivated skilled trade workers to join or commercial and residential roofing, insulation, siding, or sheet metal departments. If you or someone you know would be interested in a position at Boak & Sons they can fill out an application on site at 75 Victoria Road Youngstown, Oh. 44515.
