Boak & Sons’ Insulation Material Types and their Benefits

Is your home or commercial building starting to feel a little colder as the seasons change? It might be a sign that you need insulation! At Boak & Sons, we understand that insulation materials aren’t something everyone is familiar with. We want to help you know exactly what we’re offering for your insulation job so you feel more comfortable moving forward with your project.

Boak & Sons offers three different types of insulation materials:

1.       Traditional Fiberglass: This insulation material is the most commonly installed material by Boak & Sons. It can be used in multiple areas of your home such as your attic, open walls and crawl spaces. Batts (pre-cut pieces of insulation) and loose fill are flexible and can be blown into tight spaces.

2.       Core Foam: Core foam insulation is a block insulation that combines with compressed air to reach tricky and tight spots like wall fillings. This is a great insulation material to keep your home’s temperature regulated and quiet.

3.       Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF): Commonly referred to as SPF, this insulation material is installed as a liquid and expands to fill the space. We offer both closed-cell and open-cell spray foam. Boak & Sons is accredited by the Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA) for our work with this insulation material!

4.       Cellulose: Cellulose is a blend of shredded paper with a fire retardant chemical, called borate. Boak & sons installs cellulose as a loose fill in pre-existing, un-insulated walls and attics. We also install a wet spray-applied cellulose to new construction walls.
