- It’s better to roof in the summer.
It’s true that roofing season is much busier in the warmer seasons. However, it can be harder to roof in extreme heat. Not only is safety of our employees the main concern, but materials can be more difficult to work with if they become too hot. As long as it’s safe to do so, our crews will work on long, hot days to make sure your projects are being completed in a timely fashion.
- Roofing doesn’t happen year-round.
Not true! It all just depends on the weather. Many roofing manufacturers have roofing materials that can be installed below freezing. Many people have homes and facilities in areas that can have colder climates, needing quality products that can be installed at colder temperatures without sacrificing quality roof installations.
- You only need roof work when you have a leak or obvious damage.
This might be the most important misconception for us to address! It can do more harm than good to wait till you see serious issues with your roof to make any repairs or to replace your roof. Consider the current age of your roof and pay attention to any spots that look like they might be vulnerable to damage. You can get these problems fixed before they get worse, which could help save you money on costly repairs down the road!
- All roofing materials are the same.
BIG misconception here. It can be very difficult for people to tell the difference in variations of roofing material such as shingles, metal or flat roofing material. - One missing shingle doesn’t matter.
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link! One missing shingle can allow moisture to creep in and further damage can occur. Instead of repairing one missing shingle, you could be paying for a much larger repair!
