- Garden Hose
For a quick clean, a simple hose is the only tool you’ll need. Make sure you have a nozzle that creates a strong, but not too harsh stream. You don’t want to use something like a pressure washer because the pressure can be heavy enough to push the siding away from your home. A good strong hose will get rid of a decent amount of dirt and grime!
- Garden Hose + Soap & Water + Soft Bristle Brush
If you have some heavier staining, grime or mildew, you’re probably going to have more luck with these items than just the garden hose alone. Fill a bucket with soap and water. Any dish soap will work find! Use a soft bristle brush (might want to get one with a long handle for those hard-to-reach spots) and gently scrub away! Don’t forget to rinse the soap off with your garden hose when you’re done. Sam Boak also says to make sure the soap you use is environmentally friendly! It will be running down the side of your home into your landscaping, so make sure you don’t use any chemicals that will hurt your plants, pets or family. Safety First!
- Hire a siding cleaning company.
