Boak & Sons is well known for our expert metal roof fabricators and installation. We use the top quality sheet metal on every job and can create custom looks for your building! Metal roofs are fairly easy to maintain, but they’re definitely a little different then your low slope roofing materials or shingles. Sam Boak wants to share his top two tips to maintaining a metal roof so you can help yours last for decades!
- Regular inspections.
Just like any other roof, Sam Boak says it’s smart to have your metal roof looked at regularly. Our commercial roofing department uses an online program called Roof Asset Management, which gives building owners and managers remote access to all their commercial roofing service needs, including our metal roofing fabricators. From photos of repairs, tracking repairs and invoices and even breaking down roofing sections, it’s an easy way for our service technicians to keep you up to date every step of the way. Part of that program is regularly scheduled inspections! This is just preventative maintenance to check for any vulnerability in the roof that might be cause for concern.
- Keep it clean!
A metal roof needs to be kept clean just like any other roofing material. Debris, mildew, standing water, etc. can lead to premature aging of your metal roof which could eventually cause further damage and leaks. This includes your gutters! Your gutters are part of what protects your metal roof from water damage. Sam Boak and our expert metal roof fabricators encourage building owners to make sure their gutters cleaned out regularly and to repair them if they become damaged!
There are many other ways to help maintain your metal roof, but these are Sam Boak’s top two picks! If you have questions about our metal roofing services or the Roof Asset Management program, give us a call at 330-793-5646. You can also contact us through the form on our website!
